About Us:

Service Above Self. Service, Above All.

Welcome to Access Beyond Measure. As experts on ADA compliance, we put our belief system into action every day: “Service Above Self.” Please take a moment to learn who we are and how we can help you. We look forward to serving you.

Overview:

Architectural Accessibility. Attitudinal Possibility.

Access Beyond Measure provides disabled access compliance consulting and more. As our name implies, beyond the measurements and calculations of ADA compliance, which are vitally important, we promote awareness of and acceptance for people with disabilities.

It is important that all people feel they are included, an integral part of the fabric of mainstream society; that they can maintain their dignity as well as participate in life. By crafting our environment, we present greater opportunities for inclusion. To this end, through education, advocacy and enlightenment, we can alter perceptions and attitudes.

Access Beyond Measure offers an array of services including disabled access plan review (new projects and alterations), building and site analysis (pre-existing structures), ADA compliance for municipalities, including transition plans and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications.

Powerful Experience. Realistic Solutions.

Whether you’re an architect, developer, contractor, kitchen and bath or other designer, a municipality, a legal professional, or a homeowner, you can benefit from our expertise. Phil Kaplan has worked extensively with the hotel and hospitality industry as well as on other commercial and residential endeavors.

As a consultant, Mr. Kaplan understands, and can explain in simple terms, the rationale for accessibility requirements. As a creative thinker, he is singular in his ability to find realistic solutions to the gauntlet of accessibility and ADA compliance questions.

Phil Kaplan is front and center in the industry for another reason. He is mobility impaired, and understands on a deeply personal level the very subject about which he is an expert professionally. A wheelchair user since 1970 when he received a spinal cord injury from an auto accident, he knows firsthand the experience of living with a physical challenge.

While changing perceptions can be a painstaking process, now more than ever people with disabilities have the potential for access. We offer unparalleled experience and workable solutions. Let us put the power of accessibility and possibility to work for you.

If you’d like to learn more about the practice and promotion of accessible and universal design, contact us today. We look forward to hearing from you.

NOTE: While Phil Kaplan works with both architects and attorneys to complement their professions, and is an expert in his field, he is an expediter, facilitator and adviser only. As such, he does not have the final word on legal/compliance issues.
